Need A Lift?

Psalm 121 - April 28th, 2025

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

When you need a lift, remember where your help comes from.

There is no joy in looking only at your problems day after day. In fact it can become downright discouraging. What we look at often determines how we act and what we feel like. If all you look at is what is wrong in your life you will most definitely feel like nothing is going right.

But if we lift up our eyes unto the hills, if we lift up our eyes to the Lord who made heaven and earth, we are no longer looking at our problems but at the one who is the help to our problems. We will see that He never sleeps and that He is looking out for each step that we take. If we lift up our eyes we will see our keeper. We will see our great protector and comforter. If we lift up our eyes we will see that He has preserved us from evil and has saved our soul. If we lift up our eyes we will see that what He has done is everlasting. It is not momentary; it is for everlasting and forevermore.

When you need a lift, lift your eyes unto the Lord, from whence your help comes.

Lord, help me to realize that it is not a matter of having problems or not having problems in our life that brings joy. It all has to do with what we are looking at. May my eyes be lifted up to you every day of my life. May my eyes be lifted up from whence my help comes.
